Back in April, Kendrick and I moved from a T@G named Phoenix into a T@B named Rocky. Life has been a crazy roller-coaster of lessons, and we’ve learned quite a bit about living in our T@B on the road.
Finally, we’d like to share a little bit about our home, and some must-have items to making full-timing easier.
So you want your bike while you’re on the road, you say? But you can’t find a good place to put it, you say? Well I had the same problem! Can’t go on top of the car, because I’m too short and that’s where I store things. It can’t go on the hatchback of the car because I don’t want to move them just to open the door. Can’t go behind the trailer because it’s too long and I like my clearance.
Three years ago I didn’t know what a trailer rally was. Now they are the hub of my relationships with new friends and “camping family”. I recently attended the Texas Tiny Trailer Rally hosted by Princess Craft. Besides being a wholesome place to meet like-minded folks, rallies provide a unique opportunity to see a slew of great ideas all in one place!
The most effective lessons come of our own experience. We cannot know these lessons until we have given ourselves the opportunity to learn them from our failures. Such was the case with my most recent endeavor to summit the Grand Teton.
It’s been a long time goal of mine to climb the Grand Teton. I spent the last week prepping on some of Colorado’s 14ers. Join me for an adventure or two!
I’ve attended my fair share of trailer rallies over the past couple of years, so I thought I knew exactly what to expect at this event. For the most part I was right – good food, good friends, and a boatload of great new ideas. Yet there were a few things I was still surprised by, namely the peaceful atmosphere and the picturesque landscape. However, by far the most surprising thing was the single most common word used by all the campers to describe one another: family.
As if living in a 70 sq. ft. “house” wasn’t difficult enough, add a second person and learn how to really prioritize the things that are important in life! Join me and Kendrick as we merge our two tiny dwelling lives into one. Some things are just worth a risk.
