Hey Everyone!
I’ve been doing a bit of soul searching lately. Okay fine, not really “soul searching” so much as analyzing my business. Alright, you got me, it’s not even that organized. Basically I’ve been randomly thinking about this whole social media thing.
What I’ve realized is that I truly want to put out more content, but I’m just too dang nit-picky for my own good! Everything I’ve read and everyone I’ve talked to says I should be doing YouTube videos a minimum of once a week, if not more, along with blogs, Facebook and Instagram posts. That’s all fine and dandy in theory, until I sit down and realize it takes me nearly 2 hours of editing per minute of video I produce. And that’s just for videos! Add my real passion, photography (which I’m even more nit-picky over), along with all the other social media outlets, and the hours just don’t add up to something I can live with.
That’s when Kendrick made a suggestion: Be less picky. Do easier things. Shorter things. Things not up to the “Mandy standard”. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but one I must take.
I realize now that any video that I actually finish is better than one I never get around to!
So, we’re starting 2 new segments:
ROADLIFE RUNDOWNS:
(cool name, huh?) We’ll be adding weekly(ish) rundowns of what we’ve been up to. They won’t be huge productions, they may not be professionally lit, edited and storyboarded, but they will be there.
SHORT ANSWERS TO FAQs:
(we still need a cool name for this, suggestions welcome) I’ve collected tons of great questions from viewers and will always be taking more. We’ll give our “quick answer” to questions on a weekly(ish) basis (yes, I’m afraid of commitment) and provide links to help you find more. After all, I’m trying to keep these episodes short.
