If there’s one thing I’ve learned working in the RV industry, it’s that the term “camping” can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people! And that also means that there is a different solution for everyone when it comes to finding a place to rest your head (and your wheels) for the night.
While Kendrick and I prefer to find remote locations that are a bit more “off the grid”, always with no reservations, we know that this is definitely NOT the style that most people like to travel.
We understand the appeal in having reliable reservations and nice amenities, but these luxuries always seem to come at such a high price! Well, during our recent visit to the Hershey RV Show, we discovered that there are a lot of great RV memberships making this type of camping much more affordable. But, comparing these memberships isn’t always easy.
Below, you will find two items we put together to help you make this decision a little easier: 1st is a video from the RV show featuring actual employees of each company. 2nd, is a little chart I put together for quick reference!
Check out the video first, and then please find links to all of the memberships below.
COMPARISON CHART:
When comparing these options, here are a few helpful questions you should ask yourself:
How many nights per year do you plan to camp?
Do you plan to travel all over the US/Canada/Mexico, or just stay in one area?
Are you happy “dry camping” or do you prefer full hook-ups?
Would you actually utilize savings benefits beyond campgrounds?
Once you’ve answered these questions and looked at the specifics of each membership, you are well on your way! (or, just go crazy and join them all!!)
