We did it!! Oh my goodness, we did it. We drove all the way from the Arctic Ocean in Alaska to the Guatemala border in Mexico. 16,000 miles tip to tip. Sixteen-thousand. Some of those miles were gorgeous, some were boring, but every one of them is a memory of an experience we will remember forever – and that is what travel is all about.
You may have noticed over the past six months that the “Mandy Lea Photo Blog” has been a bit lacking. It’s true, I’ll take the blame.
But if you were missing me, fear not! I did not disappear, but rather I was posting weekly updates over on my other blog Roaming with Rocky. If you didn’t catch any of those posts, strap in for a binge session and prepare to go on an adventure!
Or, if you want to skip all our sappy words and get straight to the videos – Go straight to our YouTube playlist for all 22 episodes!
One of the many reasons we embarked on this journey was to share our experiences both in Alaska and Mexico – hoping to enlighten our viewers with an open and unbiased mind. We also wanted to show you the limitless places your T@B trailer can take you. We could not have done this without the support of our family at nüCamp RV, Princess Craft RV, and of course you, our viewers. So check out below to see our 10 favorite moments!
Finally, I’d like to assure you that Mandy Lea Photo will be back to blogging on a regular basis – with a focus on photo tips, RV tips, road-life adventures and more. Love & Light!

Top 10 moments from Alaska to Mexico:
- 1. Photographing the bears of Katmai National Park. This trip was worth every penny! I am grateful to have photographed this unforgettable experience. Featured in Episode 6.
- 2. Taking a glacier cruise from Valdez, AK to the Columbia Glacier. The first time I got to see wild “sea” life from otters to porpoises! And all from the comfort of a boat! Featured in Episode 8.
- 3. Driving the tunnel into Whittier, Alaska and hiking to Portage Glacier. Why take a boat when you can hike to a glacier? I will never forget this sunset… Featured in Episode 7.
- 4. Leading a workshop through the Fall colors of Colorado. Nothing makes me happier than sharing the beauty of my home state with others… Featured in Episode 11.
- 5. Exploring the waterfalls of North Carolina. Waterfalls have always been my favorite subject to photograph. These were magical. Featured in Episode 13.
- 6. Even though I’ve seen Big Bend many times before, this trip was unique. Of all the sunrises I’ve experienced in Big Bend, this one was the best. Featured in Episode 12.
- 7. Experiencing the beach-life of Mexico. Though I’m a mountain girl at heart, spending time on the beach put me at peace. Featured in Episode 21.
- 8. Exploring the cities and cultures of old Mexico towns. The colorful buildings and cathedral ceilings were a new photo subject I enjoyed. Featured in Episode 18.
- 9. Playing with the street dogs of Mexico. These little pups easily stole our hearts… especially “Mama Bear”.
- 10. Hiking to the highest altitude I’ve ever been: the summit of Mount Iztaccihuatl. I will remember this for the rest of my life!
