28 Quick Tips to Finding Your Tiny Home

You’ve seen them in the news, on the internet, and maybe even on the road. You’ve read about the freedom, the simplicity, and the happiness they can bring. And now you’re ready to start your own “tiny journey”.

But simplifying your life and finding the perfect home is no tiny task! There are an overwhelming number of options when it comes to finding the right tiny house for you. From legal requirements to simple aesthetics – where do you start!?

My answer – listen to the experts! No one can tell you what the “best” house is, only you can decide that. But we can give you some advice in finding your perfect solution. Once again I’ve summoned my powers of persuasion to compile a video of advice from some of the industry leaders. I asked tiny house builders and owners alike:

“What is the most important thing to consider for anyone wanting to go tiny?”

Watch the video, and check out their links and photos below! (Protip: watch until the end! #27 is my favorite life lesson… ever.)

    Hey Mandy!
I watch your videos quite often. After living and sailing on our sailboat for the last 7 years, my wife and I recently decided to sell it. Our 11 year old dog is losing his eyesight so it was time for a change. We’ve sailed all over the western Caribbean and currently reside in a small town in Mexico. I’m a writer and a huge proponent of the tiny life. Especially the way you are living yours. I love your trailer and your involvement with the nuCamp folks. What a great product.

Not too many people lump the sailing community in with the schoolies and van-life folks but, we lived in about 115 square feet for 7 years. And, sometimes, that 115 feet were tossed around like a cork. It’s been a great life and your tip, #28 about defining what your happiness looks like is spot on. Along with the woman who said, “know your why.”

I feel exactly the same. Thanks for the killer videos and the wonderful photographs. I get a lot of inspiration and just over all great vibes when I spend a few minutes watching a Mandy video. I’m sure so many others do to. Congrats and keep up the great work.
